Pian di Scò
In this very small village there are still the traces of a military past which testify to its having been an Aretine outpost in the upper Valdarno area.
The historic centre is built around its Romanesque pieve with simple façade and enriched within with decorated capitals and a fresco by Paolo Schiavo depicting a “Madonna col Bambino”.
A few kilometres from the village, in Poggio alla Regina, there are still the remains of an imposing castle built by the Guidi Counts to guard the valley.
On the first Sunday in October is the National Fair of decoy birds which is not to be missed.
